HARDT PERRY ELMER 85, of Allison Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, after a long illness. He was born on September 11, 1928, and was a lifelong resident of Hampton Township. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna (Datt) Hardt; two sisters, Ruth Sirney and Mary Hardt; and three brothers, Russell, Norman, and Marvin. Perry attended Hampton High School, where he played basketball and was a pitcher for the baseball team. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Marion (Chalmers). They worked for the Hampton Township School District for a combined total of 68 years, he as a custodian and bus driver, and she as a cook. Perry took great pride in fixing anything that was broken at the school. Outside of work, he was an expert bowler in local leagues (having once rolled a 289), an enthusiastic gardener (responsible for several prize-winning pumpkins), and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and relatives at his camp in Marienville.
