
VICTOR ARTHUR O. (RET. LT. COL. US ARMY) Age 59, formerly of Brighton Heights, on Sunday morning, December 22, 2013. Beloved husband of Anita Slagel Victor; father of Justin (Nina) Victor of East Allegheny, Gregory Victor of Fort Eustis, VA, Jessica (Jordan) Lucey of Cheyenne, WY, and Paul Victor of Hollywood, FL; survived by his mother, Marguerite Victor of Ross Twp.; also survived by his brothers, Thomas and James; preceded in death by his father, Arthur Victor, Sr. Art was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, class of 1976. While on active duty, Art served his country in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and at home as a commander in the elite Green Beret Special Forces. He later served as an officer in the Reserve Forces completing nearly 26 years of combined service. He continued his work as a public servant for the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, holding various positions for several administrations. Art also held board seats for organizations such as the Veterans Leadership Program, the Pittsburgh Marathon, and the US Service Academy Selection Committee. Friends received on Thursday 1-9 p.m. in the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Twp. Funeral Prayer Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Cyril of Alexandria Church, 3854 Brighton Road, Brighton Heights, at 11 a.m. with Father Bruney, officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
