
SCOTT EMILY (RIEDEL) Age 91, daughter of Dr. John and Emily (Carnahan) Riedel, died in Roxbury, ME, on January 4, 2014. Born August 5, 1922, in Pittsburgh, she graduated from Crafton High School in 1939 and lived in Moon Township and Sewickley Heights, PA, before moving to Maine seven years ago. She went to business school in Pittsburgh and worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad and Williams & Company and later as a part-time bookkeeper in her husband's firm, Scott Traffic Consultants Inc., until retiring at age 78. Emily was also a longtime member of Sharon Community Presbyterian Church in Moon Township, where she taught Sunday School for more than 20 years and later attended Mexico Congregational U.C.C. in Mexico, ME. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, H. Donald Scott; her children, Jane Scott Weirich (Richard), of Freeport, ME, James Donald Scott (Paula), of Kensington, CA, Mary Scott Gamble (Gordon), of Roxbury, ME, John David Scott (Teresa), of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and two sisters, Dorothy Morris, of Homer City, PA and Catherine Nylund, of Torrance, CA; as well as ten grandchildren, Christopher and Alec Scott, Jonathan and Margaret Gamble, Sarah and Joshua Weirich, and Henry, Eleanor, Margaret, and Page Spencer. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Jane Nelson. A private family service will be held at Mexico Congregational Church, UCC. Interment will be held at a later date in Chartier's Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
