HESTER GEORGE DONAHOE, Sr. Age 87, of North Strabane, PA, formerly of Bethel Park, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, with his family by his side. Born on August 10, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA, he is the son of the late Thomas and Matilda (Donahoe) Hester. Beloved husband of Marjorie Ann (Fauth) Hester; cherished father to Rebecca of Bethel Park, George, Jr. (Dayna) of Bethel Park, Daniel (Mary) of Seminole, FL, Jeanne Williams (Larry) of Peters Township, David (Joanie) of Orlando, FL, Maribeth May (Philip) of Singers Glen, VA, Thomas (Denise) of Royal Palm Beach, FL, and Kevin of North Strabane; dear brother of Betty Deeter of Annandale, VA; 15 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Leggette; and brother, James N. Hester. George was a state and local tax manager for PPG Industries. He was an active member of St. Thomas More Parish, where he served as a religious education teacher, Eucharistic Minister, and president of the Parish Council. He loved traveling with his wife of 62 years. He loved golfing, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and more recently, his great-grandchildren. His sense of humor and charm touched many over the years and he will be remembered and missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Parish, 126 Fort Couch Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241. The family requests that everyone please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
