GILLIS ELIZABETH A. BETH (STAFFORD) Of Westlake, OH (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA), passed away January 22, 2014, at the age of 86. Beth was born in Astoria, NY July 9, 1927 to the late Frank and Elizabeth Stafford. Beloved wife of the late John D. Gillis. Beth was the loving and devoted mother of Mark (Janet), Peggy (Jim) Slosnerick, Susen (Neal, deceased) Chadwick, Patricia Gillis (Jack Smith), Raymond (Carolyn) Gillis, and Carol Lynn Lee; and awesome grandmommy of 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; dear sister of Patricia (Fred) Fowler, and Barbara Fowler; and "adopted" mother of Alan Brown and Jerry Olsen. Beth will be remembered and missed by many. An avid Canasta player, Beth had a passion for letter writing and enjoyed a rewarding career at the Pittsburgh Hyatt Hotel. She was a member of the Edgewood Garden Club and served as President of the Swissvale Senior Women's Club. A Memorial Service will be held to honor Beth Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve, 2116 Dover Center Rd., Westlake, OH 44145.
