SOUTH W. JAMES Age 85, of White Oak, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at UPMC McKeesport. He was born Nov. 29, 1928, in McKeesport, the son of the late Harry and Catherine Franklin South. Mr. South was a 1946 graduate of McKeesport High School, a sergeant first class in the Army during the Korean War and a member of St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak. Mr. South retired from H.B. South Printers in McKeesport. He formerly served on several boards of directors in the community, including McKeesport Symphony Society, Penn State Greater Allegheny Campus, Long Run Children's Learning Center, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and LaRosa Boys and Girls Club in McKeesport. Mr. South is survived by his wife, Nancy Zumbro South; children, Mark (Ann) South of North Huntingdon, Marcia (Philip) Klein of Wausau, WI and Marlin (Maura) South of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Julia and Noah South; two brothers, H. Jack South of Medina, NY and G. Franklin South of Tampa, FL; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JENNIFER S. JORDAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., White Oak. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Angela Merici Church with the Rev. Kevin Dominik officiating and a tribute being offered by the Rev. Dr. Rudy Mayak. Entombment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
