
WILD KENNETH JOSEPH 77, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, after a brief illness. Born on June 6, 1936, he was the youngest of eight children of Joseph and Grace Wild, deceased. A proud sailor of the U. S. Navy who saw active duty in the Korean theater, Ken Wild also served aboard the USS Forrestal and USS Enterprise carriers as well as serving on the Admiral's staff stateside. After returning home to Pittsburgh, he worked for J&L Steel in the Stainless Steel Division for many years. Following studies at Gateway Technical and Robert Morris College, he transitioned into building engineering and began a long career in the hospitality industry building hotels, private clubs, and restaurants through the Northeast and ultimately in Texas. He was a founding family of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Katy, a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus. He retired in 1997 and began the "Pizza and Beer" club which was a source of much enjoyment for him. He married Patricia Gildea Wild, who preceded him in death, in Pittsburgh, PA, and began a family, which includes surviving children, daughter, Marigrace Wild and Rosendo Villarreal of Katy, TX; son, K. J. Wild of Katy, TX; daughter, Sarah Ann Wild and Jason Tolbert of Bellevue, WA, and Helen Wild and Brendan Norris of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren include Michael, Francis, Dominic, Isabella, and Carmella Villarreal of Katy, TX; Rachel, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth, and Edith of Bellevue, WA; and Kieran, Rowan and Cael Norris of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by sister, Delores (Dee) Wild Fredrick of Bethel Park, PA; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Visitation will be held at MEMORIAL OAKS FUNERAL HOME, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 1530 Norwalk Drive, Katy, TX at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
