HELD JAMES G., Sr. Age 82, of Monroeville, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Devoted husband of the late Josephine C. Held. Jim was a loving and supportive father to James G. (Mary Beth) Held, Jr., and Laurie (Bob) Ireland. His greatest love and pride were his grandchildren, James Emerson and Haley Rose Held. He is survived by his sister, Mary (John) Libroth; brother-in-law to the late Ann and Carl Frank; he is also survived by his nieces, Carla Hatfield, Mara Jo Nivens, and Pamela Libroth; and nephews, John Frank and Andre Libroth. Jim was employed as a principal by Gateway School District for 37 years. After his retirement, he worked 17 years at U-Haul Repair Center in Monroeville. Jim loved working in his yard, watching his grandkids play sports, and listening to them perform with their dad. He also served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Friends received Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL, INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 27, 2014, 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette Church, with Father Tony Gargotta as celebrant. Interment will be private.
