SMITH MARILYN VIRGINIA (McCABE) Of Swissvale, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on May 1, 2014, after a brief illness. Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Lee, Jr.; parents, William and Agnes (Robare) McCabe; beloved mother of Alan, Nancy Round and her husband, Terry, Frederick III and his wife, Linda, Mary Beth Trojanowski, David and his wife, Cindy, James and his wife, Meg. She was loved by her grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Alyssa, Michael and his wife, Gabrielle, Amber, Sean, Lauren, Sarah, Abigail, Colin, Ryan, Jameson, Joel, Domenica; and great-grandmother to Riley; sister of the late Jean McClelland, William and Bernard McCabe; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a retired cake decorator at the Edgewood Giant Eagle and was also a devoted volunteer at the Swissvale Senior Center, where she enjoyed her work and her many friends. Marilyn was a wonderful mother to her children and the entire neighborhood, nothing pleased her more than being among her children and grandchildren. Her love of Notre Dame and college football and basketball were unmeasurable. Family and friends received Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the THOMAS L.
