SVIHLA LaVERNE M. Age 70, of Midway, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in UPMC Montefiore. She was born December 10, 1943, in Midway, a daughter of Ruth Lamb of Midway and the late John Edward Lamb, Sr. Mrs. Svihla retired from Stylette Plastics after 30 years and was a sales assistant at Morgan Stanley. She enjoyed bingo, going to the Meadows, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her mother are her children, Ronald (Michele) Svihla of Eldersville, Robert Svihla of Coraopolis, Richard (Tracy) Svihla of McDonald; grandchildren, Kayla and Harley Svihla, Amanda Toner, Cheyenne, Dillon, Tyler, Devin, and Sydney Svihla; great- grandson, Bradly Wallace; brother, J. Edward Lamb, Jr. of WV; sister, Betty Lou Lamb of Pittsburgh; niece, Elizabeth (Stefan) Brannare; nephew, Eddie Lamb; great-nieces and nephew, Emma and Anna Brannare, and Zack Lamb; also survived by her fiancé, Donald Cook of Midway. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Friday in the THOMAS - LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE, INC., 106 St. John St., Midway (724-796-3301), where Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
