LANCEY JACK On May 14, 2014, Jack Lancey of Crofton, MD, passed away after a very brief illness. Mr. Lancey was born in Pittsburgh on December 1, 1919, and lived there most of his life until 1998 when he and his wife, Ruth, moved to Crofton to be near their son, John, and his family. Mr. Lancey served in the Army from 1941-1946, he then had a career in wholesale candy and tobacco sales until he retired in 1984. After he was discharged from the Army, he met his wife, Ruth, they were married on August 27, 1949, and enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage until her death on January 1, 2008. Mr. Lancey enjoyed hosting many card parties over the years with his wife and also loved traveling to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, where he liked nothing better than rolling a "hard 10" at the craps table. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; his parents, John and Mary Lancy; siblings, Lee, Marjorie, Dorothy, and Edward. He is survived by his son, John and his wife, Alison; grandchildren, Alexander and Shauna; great-grandson, Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. Send condolences at post-gazette.com/gb
