BERRY ALEXANDER R. 89, of Dilliner, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born February 17, 1924 in Pittsburgh son of the late Alexander F. Berry and Marie Scholl Berry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Stopich Berry; and his sister, Rosemarie Celender. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine USS Garr stationed in the Pacific, a retired Electrician, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W) union local #5 of the Southside in Pittsburgh. He is survived by two daughters, Charlene Lewis and husband, Timothy of Dilliner, Karen Berry of Houston, Texas; two sons, Robert Berry and wife, Mary of Bethel Park, Joseph Berry of McKeesport; two grandchildren, Jessica Berry and Michael Lewis and wife, Mindy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main St., Point Marion, 724-725-5256 on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, where Military Rites will be accorded.
