
HOMA DR. DANIEL J. DOC 73, of Weirton, WV, passed away July 24, 2013, in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his children, Colene Homa of Kansas City, MO, Amy (Homa) and John Ralston of Weirton, WV, Michael Homa of Pittsburg, PA, Susan (Homa) and Jay Dawson of Saranac Lake, NY, and his faithful bulldog, Bingo. He was loving grandpa to Joshua Homa, Joseph and Thomas Ralston, and Cole and Elle Dawson. Daniel is also survived by two sisters and a brother, and was a proud Uncle Bub to all his nieces and nephews, along with their children. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rose (Panin) Homa; sister, Margaret Tiny Homa; two nieces and two nephews. Dan, a true original, was an avid golfer, guitar player and baker. After medical school, he opened a private practice as a general practitioner. Upon leaving the private practice, he served as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in radiology. Daniel retired from medicine in 2002. Dan was cremated according to his wishes, and the family will be holding a private celebration of his life. Donations may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Foundation.
