CHUBA JOSEPH A. Age 88, on Thursday, August 8, 2013, Joseph went home to be with the Lord. Beloved husband of 67 years to Alma (Palo) whom he adored for 67 years of marriage; loving father of Debbie (Dr. Michael) Essig and Joseph T. (Teri) Chuba; proud grandfather of Nicole and Emily Chuba; brother of Loretta (Joseph) Karpiniak, Margaret (Edward) Pihonsky and the late Edward (wife Lorraine survives) Chuba. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Edward Palo and William Rabb; and also many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a veteran of WWII serving in the Coast Guard and Navy. He was a graduate of Homestead High school, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh. He became a teacher at Homestead Senior High, where he was also the assistant football coach and basketball coach. He then moved on to work in the health field where he retired as the Vice President of Operations at Allegheny General Hospital. Friends and family will be received at the SAVOLSKIS- WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall on Saturday 6-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Homestead. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Tim Campbell, his staff, and all the caregivers at UPMC Mercy Hospital, ICU at Magee, Jefferson Home Health, and to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Dr. Miller and Chaplain Dave for all of their support.
