MALONEY JOHN GREGG Died peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the age of 93, in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in Neptune, NJ. A resident of Pittsburgh for 68 years, he was a graduate of the Hun School in Princeton, NJ and Duke University. He also attended Columbia University and the University of Pittsburgh for specialized studies. During World War II, he served in the United States Army in the European African Theater and the Asiatic Pacific Theater. For his service in the Rhineland Campaign, he was awarded a Bronze Star. Mr. Maloney spent his business career with Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh as Vice President and Senior Trust Officer. John was a member of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, the Allenhurst, NJ Beach Club, the Palm Beach Yacht Club, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral, Palm Beach Gardens. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. John is survived by his dear wife, Helen Virginia Maloney; and three sons, John, Jr., Scott and Michael Maloney; daughter-in-law, Nancy Pogue Maloney; and granddaughter, Patricia Frances Maloney. A private graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances may be made to St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral, 999 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410.
