COLANTUONO CARL G. Carl G. Colantuono passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was 94. Carl was born and raised in Philadelphia, the son of Mauro and Rose (D'Ambrosio) Colantuono. In 1955, he moved to Pittsburgh until 1972 when he settled in Bensalem. Carl was a US Army veteran, having served as a Sgt. in the 1567th engineer company based in Belgium during WWII. He worked as a mechanical engineer for many years, retiring in 1984 from Day and Zimmerman in Philadelphia. He was a longtime 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Carl enjoyed singing and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Choir, the Centennial Singers, and the Delaware Valley Choral Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine S. (Doherty); daughter, Regina; siblings, Ann (Loiselle), Frank, and Louise; and half-brothers, Vincenzo "Jimmy", Luigi "Louie", Giovanni "Johnny", and Liberatore "Libby". Carl was the beloved husband of Florence (Coupfer) Divine Colantuono; devoted father of Catherine Eichenlaub (Thomas) of Bensalem, Dolores Esch (Kenneth) of Pittsburgh, Francis of Youngstown, NY, Margaret Romary (Robert) of Pittsburgh, Theresa Sponaugle (William) of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Carl (Robin) of Claymont, DE, Joseph (Belle) of Buffalo, NY, Marye Burton (Donald) of Rehoboth, DE, Thomas (Laurie) of Munchweier, Germany, and Michael (Robert Miller) of Penn Valley, CA; loving stepfather of two; loving grandfather of 20 and great- grandfather of 11. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the DEBOR FUNERAL HOME, 1065 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Bernard's Church, and Rite of Christian Burial in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
