COMAY ETHEL Age 97, on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, after a brief illness. Her beloved husband, Amos and son, Sholom both predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah; and daughter-in-law, Estelle; her grandchildren, Laura Comay and husband, Arthur Burris of Washington, D.C., and Joseph Comay of Boulder, CO; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Burris; she is also survived by her sister, Ruth Solwitz; her brother-in-law, Myron Solwitz; sisters-in-law, Natalie Berez and Ann Comay; many nieces and nephews as well as devoted caregivers. Her siblings, Bertha Malamude, Betty Berez, Leatrice Buchwach, Ernest Berez, and Frances Klotz predeceased her. Ethel graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology, Phi Beta Kappa. She was active for most of her life in philanthropic organizations, particularly Na'amat, and was a lifelong member of Beth Shalom Congregation. She and her husband were dedicated to Jewish and Zionist causes locally, nationally, and internationally, and lived in Tel Aviv part of each year for many years. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Sunday at 11 a.m. Visitation one half hour prior to services (10:30 - 11 a.m.). Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery.
